If you do have Reaper unlocked (or have the Hero Points to unlock an Elite), this build on Metabattle is good enough to start things off. That build will absolutely get you up and running with your existing gear, and give you plenty of time to run around and gather new gear, money, and world experience. You'll leech health like crazy on top of all that Toughness and minion-based defense. If you want even more healing at the cost of damage, replace the Soul Reaping traitline with Blood Magic, and take Quickening Thirst / Vampiric Presence / Blood Bank. If you find yourself needing that, consider swapping Well of Darkness for Flesh Wurm (cast in the beginning of every fight), or Spectral Armor.
One thing to note is that you do not have a stun break with this build. Build your Life Force, stack up Vulnerability on your enemies, then go into Shroud and go ham on stuff. You will shoot to 25 stacks quickly, which means an easy +500 Toughness and +250 Power for your fights. Basically everything you do is going to generate Carapace, which gives you +20 Toughness and +10 Power per stack. The two wells are a good DPS boost, and Well of Darkness also doubles as a source of Blind that will reduce your incoming damage.īasic strategy here is really simple. I tossed two of the minions (Bone Minions and Bone Fiend) because they're kinda underwhelming, and you'll get better damage and killing speed without them than with them. (Some Champions/Bounties may be doable as well.) While you won't be winning any DPS races, the build is nigh-unkillable and can solo most anything you'll find in PvE. This Core build is your basic Minion Master with a few minor tweaks. You don't state if you have Elites unlocked, so I'll propose a basic Core build, and then I'll add in a cheap and easy Reaper build if you do have Reaper unlocked (or have the points to unlock it.) I just leveled a fresh Necro to 80 myself a few months ago, so I can give you two good options for your playstyle. Core Necro runs open world stuff very well, and Berserk gear is a very acceptable starting point (heck - probably preferable for PvE stuff). There might be better min-maxed builds but this works well enough for me.Īctually, you're in really good shape. Swapping well of darkness (or signet if spectral walk isn't needed) with spectral grasp can come in handy to group up enemies for better cleave. The signet of power I swap out with Spectral walk if I'm in an instance where I cant mount as it gives permanent swiftness when combined with warhorn 5. Utilities I usually swap out a bit when needed, I mostly use Consume Conditions heal skill since its easy condition clear which can come in handy. I have heard the dread trait can also work well for a bit of quickness outside of shroud. Meta battle is not anything I have heard bad things about tbh, personally for power reaper I just use the raid build seen here, the only thing I swap out is Soul Eater for Decimate Defenses (the middle of reaper traitline), to reach crit cap on the tougher enemies, but this will do well in open world for story and map completion.
